and Celebration of Asian Wetland Week

  Bangladesh POUSH is a NGO active in conservation and wise use of coastal wetlands, putting a strong emphasis on community participation, environmental awareness, and sustainable human resource development.
  Workshop on Community Based Coastal Wetland Management was held at Cox's Bazar, one of the major project sites located in the southeast of Bangladesh, for the purpose of capacity building of the local people. Approximately 40 participants including local fishermen, teachers, children (shrimp fry collectors), students, women, elderly people, a Japanese expert, Bengali experts, POUSH staffs, and volunteers from Ramsar Center Japan attended the workshop. Various presentations and discussions concerning sustainable wetland management actively took place among a wide variety of stakeholders.
