Children and Teacher Wetland Exchange Program of
Korea, China, Japan

@In Busan, Korea on January 16-18, the second annual "Children and Teacher Wetland Exchange Program of Korea-China-Japan" was held. Representing areas near wetlands in the three countries, a total of 11 elementary schoolchildren were brought together.

Bird watching at the Nakdong River Estuary. Located southwest of Busan, the area is an important resting area for migratory birds. In order to improve the flow, various sand dunes, lagoons, and reed marshes have been installed. There, one is able to view mallard and long-tailed ducks, and swans search for food.

Children from all three nations unite in hoping for bountiful harvests by erecting a monument. Working hard at making sticky rice cakes! Although in Japan it is pounded in a mortar, the taste is almost the same. It was later eaten with soy flour.
A teacher instructs children on how to create grasshoppers and flowers using wetland reeds. A violin concert held by local schoolchildren to warmly welcome their visitors from China and Japan.
By highlighting their hometowns, the children build a friendship map. Sampling Korean cuisine at a special dinner function. The children cried, gitfs spicy!h while happily filling their bellies.
Singing, dancing, and games around a campfire! Although they all speak different languages, the children were able to become good friends. Boisterous fun at night! The childrenfs energy seems inexhaustible.
